Quirk @ San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Highlights

Posted by Brett Cohen

Comic-Con International 2015 is in the books! And, boy, was it a blast. Here are my highlights from SDCC. And, at the bottom, be sure to check out the photo gallery full of great cosplay, booth activity, party shenanigans, Hall H hoopla and much more.

In 2009, Quirk attended it’s first SDCC on the heels of the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies book release.  Six years later, the movie trailer premiered to a packed crowd in Hall H.

Sam Maggs had an incredible turn-out for her panels and booth signing for The Fangirl’s Guide to the Galaxy, including an appearance by Squirrel Girl!

Team Quirk attended the Geeks Go Glam party which included a Quirk-sponsored Photo Booth.  We took the opportunity to recreate the infamously meme-able Jurassic World scene.

As a Back to the Future fan, I appreciated this insanely cool giveaway from Harper Collins—and wondered how no one thought of it sooner!

Seth Grahame-Smith joined the director and cast of the Pride + Prejudice + Zombies movie in Hall H.  In this clip, he discusses what makes PPZ unique compared to the other mash-ups that followed.

Escape from The Walking Dead. For the 2nd year, Team Quirk joined up with Team Penguin Random House to survive the zombie apocalypse as we ran through Petco Park.

Quirk’s Publisher, Jason Rekulak, took a moment to morph into this grotesquely awesome beast.

Ransom Riggs enjoyed a lengthy line for his signing which included a visit from this awesome family of cosplayers—Luke, Leia and (George) Lucas!

During Ransom’s signing, tons of fans snapped pictures of themselves inside the Library of Souls cover including Ransom and Tahereh Mafi.

As always, the highlight of the con is getting to meet Quirk’s fans.  You are a passionate and fun group of people.  And, it’s so great to know that you share our love of books and all things geeky.

So, to paraphrase Ron Burgundy, ‘You stay geeky San Diego!’  We’ll see you all next year!
