There will not be a parade. Mayor Hill made that abundantly clear. There would be no parade celebrating the career of a vigilante, especially one wanted by the police. Once you laud these men and women who take crime into their own hands, the mayor said, the rule of law goes out the window.

What If The Queer Eye Guys Were Detectives?

Queer Eye on Netflix has become the must-watch sensation for people who like to see slobs getting made over or just want a good cry at the end of the day. The Fab Five are incredibly watchable, with Tan France showing folks how to dress, Bobby Berk redesigning their home, Jonathan Van Ness showing them how to love and care for their bodies, Karamo Brown healing their souls and Antoni Porowski doing…something with food? It’s hard not to imagine what other show formats these gay men might whip into shape. How might they be as detectives? Wonder no longer!

The Purge series of films—and now upcoming television show—imagines a not-too-distant alternate reality where all crime is legal for one 12-hour period every year. Apparently, this leads to impressively-costumed murder-gangs. But if all crime is legal, what are the people who aren’t particularly bloodthirsty during this time of prosecution-immunity? Fantastical Libraries Inspired by Borges

Jorge Luis Borges has a literary career chock-full of wondrous ideas and conceits, but perhaps none of them are as compelling as his “Library of Babel,” a library the size of the universe, containing all possible 410-page books. Most of the books, naturally, are gibberish, but those inside the library believe that somehow, somewhere, there are books of coherence and meaning, if they could only find them. Unsurprisingly, book lovers and authors alike have fallen in love with an idea, and made it their own. Here are a few of our favorites.
