5 Aliens We Wouldn’t Mind Dating

Science fiction has allowed humanity to explore its wildest dreams in terms of exceeding our technological limitations. But why should those be the only fantasies with which this vast genre allows us to experiment? Sometimes, after looking for love in all the wrong places, you find it in the last place you search: beyond the bounds of our planet. These five extraterrestrials have abducted our hearts.

1. Greedo from Star Wars

The hapless bounty hunter may have failed to bring in Han Solo with his ill-aimed blaster pistol in the original Star Wars film, but he certainly captured us with those big, bold eyes and his dulcet, modulated voice. Greedo is driven in his career, hangs out in the coolest bars, and speaks plainly (as long as you’re fluent in Huttese). All desirable traits, we’d say! Just be advised: he never shoots first, so you’ll have to make the first move.

2. Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy

This Guardian of the Galaxy is drop-dead gorgeous, but if she really wants you dropping dead, she’s got more efficient methods. It wouldn’t be easy getting along with her adoptive father (he’s been known to call her his favorite), but we’d brave the Infinity Gauntlet for a night out with this verdant lady from the Marvel universe.

3. The Doctor from Doctor Who

If you’ve ever fantasized about going back in time to fix a relationship, consider getting involved with someone who can. This Time Lord is nothing without a companion, and she knows it, so why not us? And hey, let’s face it. Sometimes we all wish our partner would change. With the Doctor, we have only to wait for the next regeneration.

4. Whoever is Hidden in Area 51 (So Many Conspiracy Theories)

Despite the best efforts of the Internet’s finest adventurers and Naruto-runners last year, this specimen remains elusive and unknowable. But there’s something to be said for the dark and mysterious type, and whoever they may be, this life form certainly has stories to tell. We’d love to hear them over, um, whatever they eat.

5. Spock from Star Trek

This one is easy. It’s only logical, even though love rarely is.
