December 29th is Tick Tock Day, and no that doesn’t mean it is time to look at short videos all day. As the year winds to its inevitable end and we can at last say goodbye to the seemingly endless 2020, it is time to consider the things that have been yet to be done this year. As the clock ticks ever onward all around the world, we at Quirk wanted to take a look at some of the greatest clocks in popular culture as a reminder of the hours spent cooped up at home watching TV and reading books this year.

It’s spooky season once again, and while everybody is gearing up to bring the scares and take it easy on Halloween night this year, there are some beings in the many realms of the known and unknown who are in their heaviest work season of the year—the monsters. Every year, people talk about what a burden it must be for Santa Claus to go about his appointed rounds, but what about those creeps who dole out the frights in October? Don’t they get any empathy? With that in mind, check out this list of books that would be perfect reads for some of our favorite ghouls before they lay their heads down to sleep.

Well, it seems that it is that time of year again. Spooky things are in the world and candy abounds. Go to any grocery store and there will be massive bags of supposedly fun-sized candy (although everyone knows that truly fun-sized candy is a full-sized piece) for handing out to the trick-or treaters who may or may not be coming this year. With sweets piling up in homes all over, the question then becomes, what is the best way to consume all of that sticky goodness? To keep that Halloween feeling going leading up to and well after the holiday, here is a look at some perfect pairings of horror novels and candy pieces.

There are many different types of punches in existence. The jab, the straight, the cross and the uppercut all of these are parts of the repertoires of the best pugilists in the world. Yet even all of those different punches don’t even scratch the surface of all of the punches in the world. To celebrate National Punch Day, we at Quirk decided to take a look at some of the greatest popular culture punches.

Christopher Nolan has made some of the most compelling and confusing movies of the last twenty years. The mind that brought Inception and Interstellar to the screen for your viewing pleasure is at it again with Tenet, an action packed SFX mindbender. The film was originally slated to be released on July 17th, but due to theaters being shut down, has had its release date pushed several times. While Nolan fans are chomping at the bit to see the film, they may have to wait just a bit longer as again it seems theaters may not open in time for the new release date. With that in mind, here is a list of some great science fiction reads to fill the hours until the film is released.

Over the last few years, Netflix has really held the market on adapting comics to television. Sure, other streaming services have done the same, like Amazon Prime with The Boys and Hulu with The Runaways, but comic adaptations like Locke and Key, Daredevil, October Faction, and The Umbrella Academy have been the bread and butter of Netflix. This month, they're at it again with The Old Guard, based on the comic of the same name by Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernandez and starring Charlize Theron as the lead character. Well Netflix, here are some other comic books which could really use a good show!
