Miss Peregrine’s Playlist for Peculiar Children

Library of Souls, the third book of Ransom Riggs’ Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children came out this week and we’re celebrating with a playlist. The characters in these books all have special abilities, and we made sure their songs reflect their particular powers. So turn up the volume and get ready for things to get a bit peculiar…

Miss Peregrine’s Book Club: Perfect Reads for the Peculiars

We’ve been so excited to read Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs that we may have been trying to time travel to September 22, 2015 in order to create a time loop that would repeat the book release day over and over again. Alas, we were unable to figure out the whole time loop thing and were forced instead to not-so-patiently wait with everyone else. BUT in honor of the book release, we did get our hands on some of the peculiar children’s book cards.

“Book cards?” you ask. Well, Miss Peregrine and the peculiar children have a library. And while its location is secret, we did find out their librarian uses time travel to keep their library stocked with vintage and contemporary books. But newly-released books is as far as she’ll go into the modern world. She still uses the card catalog system! That’s how we found out which books are currently checked out from the Peculiar Library.

Congrats to the Winner of the #StayPeculiar Costume Contest!

Last month, we kicked off the #StayPeculiar Costume Contest for a chance to win a trip to visit Ransom Riggs on this Library of Souls book tour. And wow, have we seen some phenomenal entries since then! You guys have blown us away with your creativity and photo editing skills. After much deliberation, our Booktuber judges (Jesse the Reader, XtineMay, and Katytastic) have finally settled on one winner for the grand prize.

A Most Peculiar Loop Day: How to Celebrate September 3rd

Ed. Note: Greetings, Peculiars! In advance of Loop Day—September 3rd—we've asked one of the peculiar children to advise on best practices for celebrating and enjoying this most special day.

Bother and drat. Loop Day is nearly upon us and I’ve only just begun to prepare for our celebration! My name is Horace Somnusson, and as usual I’m in charge of decorating; it’s a widely-acknowledged fact that I’m the only one of Miss Peregrine’s wards with any sense of style. Well, I suppose that’s not entirely fair – Millard has a little style, when he bothers to wear clothes at all – but compared to me his sartorial acumen is like a pebble lost in the shadow of a mountain.

I could go on (Bronwyn: shall I compare thee to a brick draped in burlap?) but as I said, I’m short on time and long on festive decorations to curate. And despite my many important responsibilities (and rather against my will), I’ve been nominated to educate you all about the ins and outs of Loop Day. Some of you, I’m told – even people who have never lived in a time loop – may want to celebrate along with us this year. Why, I can’t imagine. But can I stop you? No, I cannot. So read on.
