Elf Self Care Tips Inspired by Buddy the Elf

Posted by Ryan Miorelli

We’re coming up on a holiday season that will probably not look like any we’ve seen before. So who better to ask for help than someone who doesn’t look like any elf we’ve seen before? To help us get ready to fuel Santa’s sleigh with the spirit of the season, let’s look to Buddy the Elf for some “elf-care tips!”

Nutrition is the Key

While the professionals may have differing opinions, Buddy knows as well as anyone that a balanced diet consists of the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corn, and syrup. Just practice clean eating; remember Santa’s advice, and please don’t chew gum off of the street. We can’t advise against eating the whole roll of cookie dough, though.

Deck the Halls

It’s hard not to feel the spirit when you’re surrounded by wreaths and garlands. Decorating your home can be a fun activity that then serves to lift your mood all season long. Even if you may not be as speedy with the paper snowflakes as Buddy, it’s not a race. Take your time and enjoy it. Just remember to get permission before decorating the workplace, even if Buddy decided to chance it. You are likely not North Pole-educated, and your results may vary.

The Best Way to Spread Christmas Cheer…

…is singing loud for all to hear. This iconic truism perfectly encapsulates Buddy’s worldview and provides solid advice. Belt out your favorite Christmas carol loudly enough to ring all the jingle bells and be heard by every partridge in ever pear tree, wherever you are, no matter what the store manager says. We know there is, in fact, singing in the North Pole, whether you have a beautiful voice like Jovie or just do your best like Buddy.

Just Roll With It

An elf knows better than anyone that change is inevitable. After making Christmas gifts for children around the world for generations, they’ve seen every trend and every hot new toy come and go. Cherish old traditions, but embrace new ways of celebrating. You don’t have to choose between them any more than Buddy had to choose between a relationship with his father and his life at the North Pole in the end. Only a cotton-headed ninny-muggins, if you’ll pardon our French, would think that!

And Don't Forget to Smile!

Smiling's our favorite!
