It's finally here! We're so excited for the release of Marc Hartzman's new book, Chasing Ghosts, on sale September 28, 2021, and can't wait for readers to dive into this beautiful exploration of our country's long and obsessive history with phantoms and apparitions. Whether you prefer e-book or paperback, there are plenty of ways for you to get a copy. But if you plan on grabbing one at your local bookstore or library, then you better make sure it's not one of these haunted locations. Otherwise, you might just become the subject of Hartzman's next book...

It’s nearing the end of National Princess Week, and we’re celebrating our favorite princesses for so much more than just their gorgeous gowns and glass slippers. Princesses in pop culture may look like the Disney princesses of old, waiting for Prince Charming to show up and save them, but they are also fierce warriors and brilliant thinkers, too.

In honor of the princesses who love to read (and the everyday women who adore it too), we’ve rounded up some of the best book recommendations for our favorite princesses (and a couple of honorary princesses, too) based on their own personalities. These books may even set up our tiara-wearers for their best royal lives…

It’s Kiss and Make Up Day, the cutest and swooniest of all silly holidays! You can catch us reading romance – and getting annoyed when our favorite enemies to lovers won’t just kiss already! – any day of the week, but today we’re pulling out all the stops. Join us for a tour of our favorite romance novels – with a heavy dose of kissing and making up, of course!

Who doesn’t love a Brontë sister? Well, over here at Quirk Books, we have a soft spot for Charlotte Brontë and her sprawling novel Jane Eyre. And it turns out we’re not the only ones! Jane Eyre has been adapted so many times – and in so many different genres and formats – that we thought it only fitting to share some of our favorites. Because you only turn 205 years old once!

Did you know Quirk published an original Attack on Titan novel back in 2018 called Garrison Girl? Yup, that’s right! Here at Quirk HQ, we’re quiet but passionate anime fans, occasionally discussing manga at our monthly Comics Club and sometimes found crying over the return of Fruits Basket (the last season is officially here!).

So with National Anime Day landing on April 15th each year, it’s only natural we combine one of our favorite pastimes with another passion of ours. Yes, we mean books. Whether 1) you’ve watched these anime, read their manga/light novels counterparts, and are looking for a similar written story to jump into or 2) you’re a new anime fan hunting for shows based on a favorite read of yours, give this list a look-see for some TBR and TBW (to-be-watched) inspiration.

It’s World Party Day and while we’re definitely not going to any parties anytime soon, we can still find creative ways to hang out with our friends – especially when the aim of that hangout is to take things back to mid-2010s book Tumblr, with an IRL twist.
