Wholesome Celebrities We’d Love to Show Up in Video Games

As the world has been watching, Keanu Reeves has been quietly turning 2019 into the year of the Reeves. Between the third installment of the massively popular John Wick franchise, a hilarious role in Always Be My Maybe (that has fast become the stuff of meme-legend), a voice role in Toy Story 4, and then his appearance at E3 promoting Cyberpunk 2077, Keanu has been all over entertainment this year. It’s more than that, however. Reeves has been announced as the Internet’s Boyfriend because he’s just so darn lovely. In a world of constant negativity, Reeves’s unalloyed happiness and straightforward kindness is so refreshing that it’s no wonder the world has gone a little nuts about him.

However, he’s not the only charmingly wholesome actor who deserves a little attention right now, especially in the world of video games. While plenty of famous actors have lent their vocal talents to games (and often, their likeness), these celebrities have yet to take on the gaming world. And given how much fans are embracing Keanu, we think that some of these charmingly kind actors should get their shot at being immortalized in a game, too.

Chrissy Teigen

When we start talking about wholesome celebrities, Teigen has to be on the list…although she’s not exactly your grandma’s kind of wholesome! Instead, Teigen has won hearts by her cheerful candor, being open about everything from motherhood to fame, and although few of us are stunningly gorgeous women married to John Legend, she comes across just like everyone else. In fact, seeing her with Legend in a game would be even better, and they would be more than capable of bringing any game character to life.

Ellen Degeneres

It’s hard to believe that such an incredibly talented voice actress hasn’t already starred in a video game, especially since she voices a hugely popular Disney character, Dory, of Finding Nemo fame. And of course, Degeneres is known for her kindness to an extent that could even put Keanu to shame. From more traditional charitable work to spotlighting charities on her show, to actively donating money to total strangers who reach out, Ellen is always doing something to help and it’s about time that she got a game. (It absolutely does not have to be a Finding Nemo franchise offering.)

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga may be better known as a singer than an actress, but after the smash success of A Star Is Born, it’s likely that the big screen will be featuring a whole lot more of this talented performer. And of course, as someone who has made her fortune with her voice, it would be easy to see how Gaga would be the perfect choice as a voice actress. While she may not suit the kind of action game that Keanu will be appearing in, we could absolutely see Gaga as a character in an open-world fantasy game like Skyrim. She’d certainly suit the outfits, and they’d actually be quite restrained for her!

Tom Holland

This one seems like something of a foregone conclusion, as Holland is currently playing Peter Parker in the MCU, and it only stands to reason that he will eventually be voicing the character in a video game (or seven). However, at the moment, the young actor and gymnast has never lent his vocal talents to the world of gaming. What he has done is charmed fans constantly with his enthusiasm and kindness…and his total inability to keep anything secret when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Tom Hardy

Finally, we get back to the more classic action, first-person-shooter style actor: Tom Hardy. The action star would be more than capable of portraying any FPS character, and doing it with style. But he’s also surprisingly sweet in real life. Hardy is known for his love of animals, especially dogs, and don’t let the tattoos fool you. He’s constantly considered as one of the biggest sweethearts in Hollywood. Just goes to show that the hardmen on the screen are often just big softies in real life.
