Well another BEA has come and gone, and this year might have been our best one yet. Why? Read on for some highlights in photos and Vine videos!
This year, we experimented with a new convention booth, and wow, it just looked fantastic! Here it is the night before BEA opened, complete with plastic still around the carpet.
Those bookstands on top of the shelf would later hold copies of Miss Peregrine, Hollow City, The Last Policeman, Countdown City, The Resurrectionist, and the first two books in the Nick and Tesla series.
And we brought the authors of those books with us! We had six signings this year featuring Ransom Riggs, Ben H. Winters, E.B. Hudspeth, Science Bob, Charles Gilman, and Quirk's own Doogie Horner. All of them were well attended, and we gave away a ton of books.
We also set a personal BEA record with Ransom Riggs' signing, as his line spanned four aisles and he signed books for over an hour before moving on to the librarian's lounge... where he signed for another half hour. You can see a Vine of the librarian's lounge signing, here.
We were thrilled to have Science Bob, the co-author of our new Nick and Tesla series, on the BEA Indie Buzz panel. He was joined by our publisher Jason Rekulak, and they talked about the Nick and Tesla books to an excited crowd. Afterwards, he stopped by the Quirk booth to sign advance copies.
We also tried to make some of our own Nick and Tesla robots, and played with them at our booth's table.
That epic lightsaber battle? It's from Star Wars Reads Day. This year, we got to participate and brought in Drexel University's Dragon Jedi (from our flashmob last month). They acted out their parts on stage in front of a large audience.
