We all know that bros can be downright poetic, but are these seemingly unflappable dudes afraid of anything? As it turns out, they are, especially during trick or treat time.
Thus in what surely will go down as the finest meme of the 2011 Halloween season, the Niagara Falls haunted house Nightmares Fear Factory has been posting pictures of dudebros who have been scared silly by the attraction. For today’s moment of Zen, check out this photo gallery.
These hilarious fear pics prove that behind their carefully crafted masculine exteriors, bros get terrified by zombies and ghosts too.
See? They’re just like us!

Okay seriously, what is it about repurposed dictionary pages and illustrated art? Not too long ago I swooned over Collagorama’s Dandy Cat prints, and now the comic-book, video-game loving geek in me is losing it over Goblinhut’s Etsy shop, which is full of all my favorite superhero and gaming characters, printed on upcycled dictionary sheets.
Each print measures 10.75” x 7.5” and are made with vintage dictionary pages. According to Luke, the artist behind the Etsy shop, “each piece is made to order [and] every page is unique.”
According to his listings, sales from his Etsy shop help pay for his education. So please, go support this talented guy. His illustrations are fantastic. And make sure you pick up more than just one. All of Luke’s prints are buy two, get one free.

This past Saturday, Microcrafts co-authors Alicia Kachmar and Katie Hatz rocked the Megabus to New York City for a special Microcrafts event at Pins & Needles. They met crafting fans, and spent some time Microcrafting in the cozy NYC boutique.
Lauren Davis (of Pins & Needles), Sarah Goldschadt (she makes those delightful owlies) and Alicia took a bunch of photos at the event, and were kind enough to share them with me. Have a look at them on our Flickr page, or just scope them out in the gallery below. Enjoy!

As Fall settles in and the air gets chilly, one of the first things you want to do is curl up in comfort with a thick bowl of warm soup. You want to just sink into the swirling rich flavors of a hearty chicken broth, filled with chunks of chicken, ham and peppered with peas, carrots, and celery slices.
With a piping hot bowl of soup, you'll find that you're brave enough to take in the colder days and longer nights. They’re here to stay for a while, so go ahead, make yourself a big pot of chicken noodle soup. Nothing else will make you feel this good.

Outside Wildcard in PIttsburgh, PA
Oh those crazy Microcrafters. They make the smallest of crafts, but throw the biggest of parties. This week, there are Microcrafts celebrations going down in New York City and Pittsburgh.
The first celebration of tiny crafts takes place this Thursday, October 20th, at Wildcard in Pittsburgh, PA. Alicia Kachmar isn't the only Microcrafter from the Pittsburgh area. Local artists Nadia Marks Wojcik and Tamara Barker are also featured in the book, and will be attending the release party. The folks at Wildcard are also going to be showing off Alicia's first Quirk title, Witch Craft.
Over the course of the party (which also doubles as Wildcard's Second Anniversary bash), Tamara and Co. will be selling tickets for their Steeltown Etsy raffle to help Alicia with some recent medical bills.
