It's November, which we all know means we have entered the best season of the year. We don't mean the winter season, or the holiday season, or a season of peace and goodwill to our fellow humans, although we guess those are great too.
No, we mean the season of food.
Between Thanksgiving and New Year's and winter holidays and all the family gatherings those are sure to entail, the next two months give us ample opportunity for shoving our faces full of every delicious delicacy we can find. In honor of this season of culinary splendor, below are some of the greatest feasts to ever take place in fiction.
This weekend, The Walking Dead returns after an agonizingly (thanks to the season 6 finale's doozy of a cliffhanger) long hiatus, and we already know that, as always, Rick and his ragtag gang of survivors have managed to get themselves into quite a pickle. Not all of our favorites made it out of season 6 in one piece, and for those who are left, things are looking (again, as always) rather grim.
For many adults who never outgrew the joy of dressing up as our favorite characters, Halloween costumes aren't just reserved for our kids. Whether it's to wear to work, school, a local festival, or just around the neighborhood, coming up with a family costume can be a lot of fun and a great activity that adults and kids alike will look forward to year after year.
Beginning with The Sound of Music LIVE! a few years ago, TV networks have slowly but surely been working to bring stage musicals both classic and modern into our living rooms. The first couple productions were more miss than hit, but TV musicals finally seemed to hit their stride with 2015's Grease: Live and The Wiz Live! Soon, we will be getting a new version of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, followed not long after by Hairspray Live! And after that – we hope -- the sky's the limit.
While some musicals might not necessarily work on network TV, either due to the content of the show or the complexity of the staging, below are ten shows that would thrive in this format, along with suggestions for who the networks could tap to star in each one. Are you listening, TV executives?
Even before the CW announced that they were bringing Supergirl over from CBS, fans have been clamoring for a CW DC-verse musical. Not only does each of their four shows boast at least one seasoned veteran of musical theater (John Barrowman on Arrow; Ciara Renee, Arthur Darvill, and Victor Garber* on Legends of Tomorrow; Jesse L. Martin on The Flash; Jeremy Jordan on Supergirl), but the leads of both Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and The Flash (Grant Gustin) both had prominent roles on Glee.
As any woman who has attempted to climb the corporate ladder can tell you, it can be tough to be a woman with big dreams, especially for women who aspire to roles typically reserved for men. However, tough does not mean impossible, and below are a few fictional women who didn't let a few cuts – and the occasional stab wound – stop them from smashing straight through the glass ceiling.
