June is National Candy Month! Not only are we celebrating by eating our favorites *vibrates from sugar high* we couldn’t pass up on Candying a Book—especially, when we realized we should Candy the Harry Potter Series because Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was originally published on June 26, 1997. This was clearly meant to be.
The first Friday in June is National Donut Day. Not only is this one of those delicious holidays we technically celebrate every day of the year (because donuts!) this one actually has a great history. During World War I, the Salvation Army's volunteer women made donuts to boost morale amongst soldiers. So let’s all raise our donuts high today for those ladies! And after you’ve washed all that frosting and glaze off your hands, we’re continuing our donut celebration with a tiny-armed-T.-rex-trying-to-eat-donuts bookmarks because hilarious.

Sometimes we use the closest thing we can find as a bookmark: receipt, clothing tag, chocolate wrapper, that thing that broke off of something we can’t remember… But some book genres need their own bookmark! In this case, we found ourselves wanting a creepy bookmark as we were reading My Best Friend’s Exorcism by Grady Hendrix. So we did what any horror loving bibliophile would do in the middle of the night in their PJs: We went shopping online while singingThe Addams Family theme song.
Here’s what we found:
Have your holy water and Raid bug spray ready because here’s a creepy printable bookmark inspired by My Best Friend's Exorcism (on sale today)!
Orphan Black Season 4 premieres April 14th which means we get more nutjob Helena—our favorite! Also clones pretending to be other clones, delicious drama, and even more hilarious moments.
As we await the moment to run homes to our TVs, we thought that Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass, in all its bizarre glory, would lend some perfect quotes to Orphan Black screen caps. Behold, our mash-up: Orphan Black Wonderland.
This year we thought we’d celebrate National Bookmobile Day by placing some fictional characters in charge of some real life libraries on wheels. While Kimmy Schmidt is still one of our favorite imagined librarians, we couldn’t picture her driving a bookmobile through the streets of NY without ending up in an accident. So we left her happily working in the public library as we set out on the road.
