Summer’s almost here, but Philadelphia’s literary community is as busy now as ever. Before you go away for a months-long stretch of beach reading, check out some upcoming events:

The Bloomsday celebration at the Rosenbach Museum and Library continues this week with events including a marathon reading on Tuesday, June 16th.

On Wednesday, June 18th, at the Central Branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia, Kevin Birmingham and Maya Lang will read together in celebration of Bloomsday as well, Birmingham from The Most Dangerous Book, his study of the publication history of Ulysses, and Lang from her novel The Sixteenth of June, a contemporary interpretation of Joyce’s novel.

Also on the 20th, Tattooed Mom kicks off its Summer reading series with readings from Philadelphia natives Natalie Lyalin and Michelle Taransky and Brooklyn-based visitors Danniel Schoonebeek and Emily Skillings.

Finally, at Musehouse on Saturday, June 21st, poet and board member Joanne Leva will read from her new manuscript Cryptic Orchards.
